The title track of this
collection of inspirational songs was inspired by the now legendary
encounter with the mythical Giraffe that stalks
the
woods
of the
Castle Grounds of Stornoway.
'Giraffic'
lurks behind Oak and Rhodedendron,
seeking opportunity to pounce on innocent passers
by.
Historically, this has only occurred once. The innocent passers
by were, by happenstance, your favourite Avant Gaelic Obscurist
Folk Rock, DunRingle.
From the ridiculous to the sublime, The Scalpoch Armada recounts
the stranding of the Spanish sailors who fled North
and were shipwrecked on the Hebrides after the defeat of the Armada
in 1588. It is rumoured that the dark characteristics of many islanders
are a result of the shipwrecked sailors acceptance into and subsequent
marriages within the local communities.
A splendid anthology of Obscurist Avant Gaelic Folk Rock renderings,
and happily, available in MP3 format. Click on the 'Play' buttons
