Dances With Lobsters,
Dun Ringill's fourth album, was recorded in October 1995 at
VideoSyncratic studios Edinburgh, Scotland, and mixed at The
Attic studios, also in Edinburgh.
To maintain that authentic Avant Gaelic Obscurist Folk Rock feel,
Dances With Lobsters was recorded once again using the trusty
Fostex MR300.
Chiefly, the theme of the album is the hunting and catching
of all things aquatic, from Lobsters to Salmon, inspired by
lead guitarist
Jason's experiences as a Lobster fisherman. There are, however,
several creative forays into Environmentalism,
Weaving, Drinking and
Seasickness, (not necessarily connected).
Released in May 1996 due to indolence by the band member charged
with the grave responsibility of getting the finished tape copied
and packaged, Dances With Lobsters was recieved with much enthusiasm
and critical acclaim by both fans.
Once again, cover design was by Jason, and once again, The tracks are
not currently available in digital format, although 'Drinking Thinking'
and 'Hunt For The HumpBacked Lobster' are available on the 2005 album Re
Dun.
Maybe one day..........
